Synopsis

Rand Bishop’s dreams of Olympic gold were shattered years ago but he’s left that all behind, settling into a new career and lifestyle that would make any man jealous. While he may not be competitively racing down the ski slopes anymore, he’s just as happy getting his rocks off as a Fantasy Maker for The Silo.

He’s good at what he does.
Damn good.

But while life couldn’t be better for Rand, it seems to be falling apart for Catherine Lyons Vaughn, the dark haired, brown-eyed beauty that has captivated an entire sex club.

Having spent years degrading herself on her husband’s whim and now left destitute after his death, Catherine has hit rock bottom. With nothing but her body to peddle, Catherine is merely trying to figure out how to survive in a harsh, cruel world. Lucky for her, Rand has taken her under his tattooed wing, and he’s determined to give her a safe life where she can be the woman she was always meant to be.

Now all Catherine has to do is believe she deserves the chance.

Carra's Review

One thing's for sure-you can always count on this series to leave you hot and bothered while also giving you a story that packs a creative punch.

Catherine, or Cat as she prefers to go by, was trapped in a pretty bad arrangement with her husband, and when he dies things go from disturbing to pitiful.  I have to admit, I wasn't too enamored with Cat's character.  While yes, her situation before getting married wasn't good, it was better than what it was after the marriage.  Money and material possessions are not worth what she went through, and I just can't agree with the choices she made...and there is always a choice.  Rand is the kind of guy who wants to help people, he's protective and caring...along with being so far past hot and sexy it should be a crime.  His protective nature comes roaring to the forefront when he learns of Cat's predicament.

The story moves along smoothly and quickly, but without it feeling rushed.  The writing is excellent as I've come to expect from this author, and the story was engaging.  Don't even get me started on the scene with Rand, Logan and Cat (to be totally honest I'd have been fine with Rand and Logan ending up together instead, the chemistry between the two of them actually sizzled even more than that between Rand and Cat).

I liked how the other main characters from the first two books of the series rally around Cat and are so supportive of both her and Rand--they clearly treat each other like family, and I really enjoyed seeing them in this story.  Especially Bridger.  Oh, how we all want Bridger and are clamoring for his story, right?

Because of the hard time I had with Cat's character's choices, I had a difficult time deciding on my star rating for this story. My final rating is 3.5 stars, with most of that rating coming from Rand's character, Bridger, Callie, and Sloan...well, basically everyone outside of Cat.  And Rand and Logan?  Yeah, that definitely contributed positively to the rating.  Recommended for 18+ only due to adult language and explicit sexual content-M/F, M/M and M/M/F.
